General description

Child sexual abuse is a frequent problem in our reality as a country, as well as worldwide. The WHO in 2004, calculated that the global prevalence of sexual victimization in childhood was around 27% among girls and approximately 14% among boys. Without a doubt, this  The problem presents a series of challenges for clinical practice, whether in Social Work or in other professions at the end.  The clinical work in the face of sexual abuse requires a series of knowledge, both from the legal apparatus, as well as the protective social, family and community networks, which promote clinical methodologies that can stop the retraumatization of children in the face of said experience of violation, strengthening their family system, and the parental figures in charge of supporting and caring. Given that, this seminar seeks to understand the mental health aspects involved in child sexual abuse, proposing clinical methodologies consistent with enhancing the family system and the personal resources of children.
