The Chilean Institute of Clinical Social Work as an organization committed to the training, promotion and updating of the specialty, this time will give an exclusive webinar for students and interested professionals from Ecuador, therefore, by breaking down the educational barriers of Exclusivity makes said knowledge accessible to the professional community. In this first approach, the idea is to converse, re-think and deconstruct the classic praxis of Social Work to begin to think of ourselves as a discipline in a specialized identity and according to the more global panorama.
General description
The main objective of this conference is to provide a reflective and contextual view of Contemporary Clinical Social Work for Ecuador. In this sense, it seeks to respond to the updating of a new professional identity, which includes a critical therapeutic dimension as a professional exercise. In this sense, Clinical Social Work has been in dispute and controversy in the Latin American region due to multiple factors, among which politicians, disciplinary and professionals stand out. From our conception, there still exists in our geographical location, certain oppressive tendencies that reduce Social Work to a welfare praxis, functional and subjugated to other professions, which ends up building a deteriorated identity as a profession, placing it in a second-class professional practice category with respect to other professions. On the other hand, there is a boom in Clinical Social Work in several Latin American countries, fostering possibilities of liberating practices, ethically collaborative and embodied in Social Justice from the therapeutic point of view.
General objectives:
Generate and open a reflective-critical space for dialogue through a broad conversation about the context of contemporary clinical practice of Clinical Social Work for Latin America.
Visualize and publicize the essential knowledge about Clinical Social Work from a global vision.
